Sonos is expanding its audio expertise beyond speakers with the introduction of the Sonos Ace, its first pair of headphones. The Ace stays true to the Sonos brand, offering a sleek design, exceptional sound quality, and seamless integration with the Sonos ecosystem.

While independent reviews are yet to come in, Sonos promises a captivating audio experience with custom-designed 40mm drivers. Beamforming microphones ensure clear voice calls and effective active noise cancellation (ANC).

The Sonos Ace boasts a minimalist aesthetic in Black and Soft White. Sonos prioritizes comfort with plush vegan leather ear cushions, a memory foam headband, and stainless steel arms with hidden hinges.

A unique feature for existing Sonos users is the ability to effortlessly switch TV audio from the Sonos Arc soundbar to the Ace headphones with a single button. The headphones also support Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos and dynamic head tracking for an immersive listening experience.

To achieve lossless audio quality, users can connect via USB-C cable or utilize Bluetooth with a device that supports Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound AptX Lossless. Apple device users will need to rely on the USB-C connection for lossless audio.

Sonos touts an “Aware mode” that allows for easy environmental awareness with a button press. The company claims this feature surpasses similar functions in competing headphones. Battery life is impressive, lasting up to 30 hours with ANC enabled. Additionally, fast charging provides three hours of playback with just a three-minute charge.

The Sonos Ace is available for pre-order starting at $599 in Canada, with official sales commencing on June 5.
