Apple updates iMac line with quad-core i5 processors and Thunderbolt I/O

 

Apple updated the iMac line today and has given the all-in-one  consumer desktops quad-core Intel Core i5 processors all around, improved AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR5 memory and 3 times the performance of previous models.

The new iMacs also feature Apple's new Thunderbolt high-speed optical transfer technology which is touted to be 20 times faster than USB 2.0. iMacs come in 21.5 inch models starting at $1,999  for the 2.5Ghz model ($1,499 for the 2.7GHz) and  27 inch models at $1,699 ($1,999 for the 3.1GHz model).

White Apple iPhone 4 comes to Canada Tomorrow

All the people who have been waiting for the white iPhone 4 to make an appearance can now exhale, for real. The 16GB and 32GB versions of the white variant of the iPhone 4 is coming to Canada tomorrow and will be in Apple Retail stores as well as online. Some earlier leaks stated that the white iPhones were already showing up in Virgin Mobile and Telus stores so mobile carriers may have a limited stock of the much awaited frosted iPhone. The Apple Beat: iPhone 4 is nearly top 'camera' used on Flickr

Nikon's D90 DSLR camera is an accomplished and enduring camera that takes stunning stills and can manage pretty awesome HD video. Its no surprise that it is the top camera used on photo sharing website Flickr despite being over three years old. Apple's iPhone 4 (which features a 5 megapixel camera) is slowly creeping up on the top spot and looks ready to dethrone the D90. Not bad for something that's not even a standalone camera but a feature, on a smartphone.

The iPad 2 is finally coming to Canada tomorrow afternoon and Apple Retail Stores will once more see long lines of excited customers. Many will be first-time buyers who waited patiently for the iPad to go version 2.0 before plunging into the tablet space. Others are upgraders hungry for the latest and greatest and as always, there will be shrewd prospectors out to make a few hundred bucks.
