Fitbit now fully integrated under Google branding

Image: Google

Fitbit branding is undergoing a shift to reflect its full integration with Google. Previously, it used "Fitbit by Google." Now, it's simply "Google Fitbit," with the Google name taking precedence. This aligns with the recent Google Store update that added Fitbit products and accessories under a new "Watches & Trackers" category.

This change reflects a deeper internal shift at Google. Hardware divisions are now merged, with one team overseeing design, engineering, and software across Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit. This streamlining coincides with the departure of Fitbit's co-founders and other leaders, solidifying Fitbit's position as a fully integrated part of Google.

Google Pixel Watch 2: A powerful and stylish smartwatch with Fitbit features

Google

Google is back with a new and improved Pixel Watch 2. It is a smartwatch with a strong focus on fitness and health tracking. It features new sensors and features from Fitbit, the wearable maker Google bought in 2019, including the stress-detection sensor from the Fitbit Sense 2.

The Pixel Watch 2 retains its signature round screen and 41 mm case, but with some subtle design changes. The 1.2-inch AMOLED screen is now flush with the digital crown, eliminating the small gap from the previous model. The watch’s body is also made of recycled aluminum, making it lighter and eco-friendly. It comes in at 31 grams instead of 36 grams. And it has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It comes in various colours, such as Polished Silver/Bay, Polished Silver/Porcelain, Matte Black/Obsidian, and Champagne Gold/Haze.
