Windows Phone Mango update finally rolling out

The much awaited update to Windows Phone, version 7.5 codenamed Mango is starting to roll out. We tried our devices but the update was not yet available although Microsoft says it should be out soon. With hundreds of new features and improvements, Mango is a more competetive mobile os that Microsoft hopes will take some market share from Google's Android and the iPhone. Below is part of the press release on Mango.

Starting today, the next version of Windows Phone is en route to customers. Code named Mango, the update will gradually ramp so that it will be available for free to most existing Windows Phone customers by the end of October. For more information, please check check the Windows Phone blog and Microsoft News Center throughout the day for additional news and executive insight. For timing on when you can expect to see the update delivered via Canada carriers, please check out our “Where’s My Update” page as the update rolls out.

"Windows Phone launched last year with a new approach. Its unique user interface and Live Tiles put people front and center, making it easier to connect and share.  The Windows Phone 7.5 update includes: More modern communication with conversation threads, linked inboxes and deeper social integration; a smarter way to app, with App Connect, improved Live Tiles and multitasking; and Internet beyond the browser with Internet Explorer 9, Bing integration and more."
