Fitbit dashboard on the web might be going away

Fitbit users have been encountering blank dashboards on the web app (fitbit.com) recently. (When we tap on the link, it redirects to a support page.) This has sparked speculation that Google, which now owns Fitbit, might be phasing out the web version in favor of a mobile-app-only experience.

The Fitbit web dashboard, which has been around since the days of syncing trackers with USB dongles, hasn't received a visual update in a while. While some users appreciate its familiarity, others might prefer the more modern design of the Fitbit app.

Garmin has been busy enhancing its smartwatch lineup recently. Following their March 2024 feature announcement, they released new beta firmware for several models, including the Fenix 7 series, which received more extensive updates than the Venu 3 and Vivoactive 5.

But beyond the official announcements, Garmin has quietly introduced a valuable new feature: manual nap tracking within Garmin Connect. This allows users to add naps they may have missed, edit existing entries, or remove inaccurate detections.

Oura gets experimental with Symptom Radar

Oura Ring users can now explore the future of health tracking with Oura Labs, a new platform for testing experimental features. The first feature, Symptom Radar, focuses on early detection of physiological stress, not full-blown illness.

Unlike the illness detection features many wearables aimed for during the pandemic, Symptom Radar tracks biometric trends like temperature, respiration, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability. When it detects significant changes, it prompts users to prioritize rest through Rest Mode or a lowered activity goal.
