Microsoft's Office apps arrive for Android tablets

Microsoft has fulfilled its promise to get Office 365 available on all platforms regardless of whether they are competitors or not. Microsoft Office apps are now available for Android tablets. This is great news for owners of Android tablets 7-inches or larger which already subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 and who wnat to be able to edit and create Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote documents on their mobile device of choice. To be eligible to run Office,your tablet should be running at least Android 4.4 KitKat. They also have to have an ARM-based processor and 1GB of RAM or above.

Sony pushes Android KitKat update to Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual

Sony has begun rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to two of its devices—the Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual. The Japanese tech company confirmed it on their blog and said these devices will get what you’d expect from an Android KitKat update as well as some custom software updates to improve the user experience. It will include Sony’s tweaked status bar and quick settings and the option to move apps from internal memory to the external card. The native apps—such as Messaging, Sony Select, Battery Stamina Mode, etc.—have also been refreshed. The update is rolling out in stages and availability will vary from region and carrier. Just wait a bit for it to reach your device.

Motorola Moto E gets Android 4.4.4 update in Canada

Motorola has just announced on its blog that the Moto E is getting the latest Android operating system update pretty soon. The update is rolling out to Moto E devices in Canada, Brazil, France, and Asia. Those who are using the Moto G in Brazil and India will be getting the latest Android flavour as well. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for any more updates about the other Motorola handsets.

Google Play editions of HTC One M8 and M7 get Android 4.4.4 upgrade

Good news for owners of the Google Play editions of HTC One M8 and M7! It would seem the latest version of Android KitKat has begun rolling out to your devices. Don’t expect any user interface changes or the like though because Android 4.4.4 is for the backend of your device. It says it improves performance, security, and stability.
