Apple has 'Ted Lasso' sticker pack in iMessage, Clips

Apple isn't just promoting its TV+ comedy series, Ted Lasso, with actual stickers. There is now an iMessage Sticker Pack and animated stickers in the Clips app. The stickers showed up around a week ago on the App Store. Unfortunately, these aren't integrated into the TV app. And these are the first ones to show up in the Clips app, too. Here's to hoping Apple eventually makes it easy to use and share these stickers on their different apps.

Apple Clips introduces iPad-specific features in new update

Source: Apple

If you're still using Apple Clips and have an iPad, you'll appreciate the new update. Apple streamlined the interface on the app to allow you to add effects quickly and easily. For iPad specifically, the app now lets you capture and edit videos in landscape. By default, Clips on the iPad will film videos in a 4:3 aspect ratio, but it will let you choose different aspect ratios (similar to the iPhone app), including 16:9 or 1:1. The iPad version also now supports a Bluetooth mouse or trackpad. And with Scribble support, you can even use the Apple Pencil to add text.

As for iPhone users, it can take advantage of the new iPhone 12 series' HDR capabilities. But you'll have to use the phones' cameras. The update also introduces eight new stickers, 25 royalty-free songs, and six additional arrows and shapes.

Apple Clips gets new Disney- and Pixar-inspired effects

Here’s another fruit from Apple’s partnership with Disney. The company’s video creation app for iOS, Clips, is bringing tons of graphic overlays and posters from some of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters. Version 1.1 of the app now has animated overlays of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck as well as your favorite Toy Story and Inside Out characters like Woody and Jessie, Joy, Fear, etc. Aside from the overlays, there are new Disney-designed posters that can work as title cards for your stories.

Aside from these, there are 10 new Apple-designed overlays and 12 posters with “dramatic graphics, beautifully rendered backgrounds, and customizable animated text.” Apple says they’ve also included some usability improvements to make it that much easier to turn video clips and photos into something fun.

Create fun short videos with Appleā€™s Clips app

App developers are making it easy for us to make fun videos on the internet to share with friends and family (and fans, for the more popular set). Apple is joining in on the fun with a new app. Called Clips, you can create short videos on your iPhone or iPad that combine videos, photos, and music that you can share on popular social media sites. Inside the app, there’s what Apple calls the Live Titles feature, which lets you add animated captions and titles to videos with just your voice. The app will automatically generate the captions as you speak. It supports up to 36 different languages at the moment.

There are different filters available in the app including speech bubbles, shapes, comic book filters, and full-screen animated posters. You can opt to shoot the videos or photos on the spot or get the clips and photos from your camera roll. It lets you create multi-clip videos without timelines, tracks, or editing tools that could confuse the typical user. The app will be available for free starting next month. It works for iPhone 5s or later, new 9.7-inch iPad, all iPad Air, and iPad Pro models, iPad mini 2, and later. Your device need to run iOS 10.3 for it to work.
