Apple

If you were impressed with the performance of the Apple MacBooks with the original M1, the company wants you to know that'll blow that chipset out of the park. There are two new M1 chips out of Apple's stable, the M1 Pro and M1 Max.

The M1 Pro will be 70% faster than the original M1 chipset, with a GPU that's 2x faster, 32GB of unified memory, and 200GB/s memory bandwidth. The M1 Max gets a higher unified memory (up to 64GB).

Apple tipped to launch new MacBook Pros soon

After its fall launch, Apple looks like it's ready to hold a Mac-focused event next. In his latest newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that the new MacBook Pros with the rumoured faster "M1X" Apple silicon chip would power these new laptops. You can expect an updated design and better display tech, too.

Apple typically holds its Mac events in October, but last year, Apple held it in November. Gurman said the company is gearing up to introduce this product within the next month. He wrote, "Apple typically does its major new Mac introductions in October. So stay tuned."

Apple M1X MacBook Pros expected to hit shelves in 'the next several weeks'

While Apple is gearing up to launch the new iPhone and Watch series, there are also reports surrounding the next-generation MacBook Pros. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman wrote in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter that the long-awaited 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros running on M1X processor will be hitting shelves in "the next several weeks."

But the new MacBook Pros aren't expected to be announced during Tuesday's event; Gurman believes there will be a different event for the Mac and iPad. The MacBook Pro will reportedly get a new flat-edged design similar to the latest iMac, iPad Pro, and iPhone 12 designs. This laptop will also reportedly feature an HDMI port and SD card slot, along with MagSafe tech for magnetic charging.

Apple MacBook Pro models rumoured to get 1080p webcam

If this report is accurate, two Apple MacBook Pro models are getting upgraded 1080p webcams. Leaker Dylandkt tweeted that the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros will get "an updated, improved 1080p webcam" alongside the "entire Mac lineup." The first Mac to get a 1080p webcam is the 24-inch iMac.

MacRumors mentioned that Dylandkt had provided accurate information in the past. Back in November, the account shared that Apple will bring the M1 chip to the next-generation iPad, which we now see in the iPad Pro. And a few days before Apple's Spring Loaded event, the account posted that the new iMac will feature the M1 chip instead of the M1X chip.
