Blizzard celebrates 10th anniversary of 'StarCraft II' with anniversary update

Blizzard wants to celebrate StarCraft II's 10th anniversary by publicly testing an anniversary update. It offers new campaign achievements for every mission in the base game and its three expansions. The game will also let players create custom campaigns, which has helped keep its fans. The developer takes in some elements from Warcraft III's game editor to make it easier to use StarCraft II's map editor.

StarCraft II is also getting a new transitioning lobby, allowing players to move quickly between two maps in multiplayer. There is also a new "Campaign" subsection in the game's variants menu. If some of these features seem familiar to you, Blizzard released a lot of these changes with update 4.13's public testing round last Tuesday.

Blizzard's Overwatch League events this March, April won't be happening

While Overwatch League matches will continue, the events scheduled for March and April have been cancelled due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. Blizzard announced that it's still planning when or where the games will be made up in the future.

In a statement released on Twitter, Activision Blizzard Esports CEO Pete Vlastelica said the games would be played in some form. "To be clear, we will be playing matches in March and April," he said. "We cancelled the events, not the matches (though we will have to move a few things around in the schedule to make this work)."

Blizzard said to be working on TV adaptations for 'Diablo' and 'Overwatch'

Ever wanted to see shows based on Blizzard games Diablo and Overwatch? You might get your wish soon. Nick van Dyk, president of Activation-Blizzard, posted on his LinkedIn a project description on TV adaptations for the two games. He writes, “Executive producer of Diablo, a TV adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment’s IP, rendered in anime style. The show is currently in pre-production for distribution worldwide through Netflix. With my creative partner, developed and sold an animated series based Blizzard’s Overwatch franchise.”

While we know that Netflix will be working on the Diablo series, we don't know who will be developing the Overwatch series. But we'll keep our eye out for any updates.

Blizzard's 'Overwatch' will make its way to the Nintendo Switch on October 15th

Blizzard

It's finally coming. Nintendo announced at its Nintendo Direction presentation that Blizzard's team-shooter game Overwatch is coming to the Switch console on October 15th. The game will support Nintendo's motion controls, allowing you to do things like steer vehicles or perform specific attacks. If you play the game on other platforms, then we're sorry to say that there isn't any cross-save here. You'll need to play the game again to access certain features. If you're okay with that, the port comes with 15 character skins and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online individual membership. Those who purchase the game by December 31st unlock a Golden Loot Box with at least one guaranteed Legendary item. It's available for pre-order at $49.99.
