‘Diablo’ series reportedly in the works for Netflix

Rumour has it we’re getting another video game-based series on Netflix apart from Castlevania. This time around, it’s being reported that Blizzard and Netflix are working on bringing Diablo to life on the video streaming service. Revenge of the Fans site reports Hellboy writer Andrew Cosby has been asked to pen the script for the show. As to what type of series it would be or where it will be based is something we don’t know yet. Also, without any confirmation from either company, it’s important to take this rumour with a big grain of salt. With BlizzCon coming up, we should hear something about this soon. And if it does become a real production, is this something you’ll be interested in watching?

D.Va’s blaster joins the Hasbro x Blizzard ‘Overwatch’ Nerf life

Another Overwatch weapon is making the crossover to real life. Hasbro and Blizzard unveiled D.Va’s Light Gun at ChinaJoy in Shanghai as part of the Nerf Rival line of toys. It’s a blaster with a three-round capacity and can fire the foam ammunition at a velocity of up to 80 feet per second. It also has a spring-action mechanism, safety, ready indicator, and D.Va’s bunny charm dangling from the grip. A few week’s ago at San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro and Blizzard unveiled Reaper’s Wight-skinned Hellfire shotgun. There is no word yet on pricing or release date so far or if there are other Nerf/Overwatch toys in our future.

Hasbro and Blizzard debut ‘Overwatch’-inspired NERF gun

Overwatch fans are going to want to keep your eyes out for this. While teased back in May on Overwatch’s Twitter account, Blizzard and Hasbro showed off its NERF gun inspired by the popular game at San Diego Comic-Con. The NERF Rival Overwatch Reaper Wight Edition, as its name suggests, takes design inspiration from Reaper’s signature shotguns in the game. It comes in all-white with chrome, black, and bronze accents. It can carry eight rounds and can shoot up to 90 feet per second. Each gun also has a custom NERF Rival rounds that has the Overwatch logo on them. This is expected to hit stores in 2019.

Blizzard sues Chinese game developer for ripping off ‘Overwatch’

Protecting its intellectual property, Blizzard is suing Chinese developer 4399 for what looks like a blatant rip-off of its hit game Overwatch. 4399 named the game Heroes of Warfare and if you see the gameplay video above, it does look rather similar to the Blizzard game—from the playable characters to the maps, and even down to the heads-up display. As with other IP infringement lawsuits, Blizzard, together with its Chinese partner NetEase, is asking for 4399 to cease production of its game, monetary compensation for damages, and that the aforementioned game be taken down from the Android and iOS app stores.
