'Destiny 2' to cut off Stadia players on Jan. 11

If you wanted to play Destiny 2 until Stadia shut down, that won't possible. Bungie announced the game would go offline on Stadia on January 11. Google's game streaming service is shutting down for good on January 18. Bungie Studios explains in a press release, "Destiny 2 on Stadia will go offline starting January 11, one week prior to Stadia shutting down. We hope this will give those players who haven’t set up Cross Save yet enough time to do so before January 18."

If you want to transfer your Destiny 2 progress to other platforms, you must set up Cross Save as soon as possible. The game on other platforms is prepping for its next major update, Lightfall. The trailer recently dropped at The Game Awards. You can check out what's coming in the video above ahead of its February 28, 2023 release.

Bungie and Google give you a sneak peek of the worlds in ‘Destiny’

Just a few days ahead of its September 9 release, Bungie is creating more hype for its game with its collaboration with Google Maps team. They have partnered to create a fictional map of Destiny’s world they call Destiny Planet View. You will be able to browse through the three main locations featured in the game—the Moon, Mars, and Venus. While it will only give you a partial view of the worlds, we think it’ll be enough to drum up further excitement about the game for those who are waiting for it.

If you thought you’d be able to play Bungie’s Destiny in 1080p glory, sadly that won’t be available for the beta version. Bungie community chief David Dague confirmed the news during a live stream of the beta on IGN. Full 1080p resolution will be available for all platforms by the time the title launches.

Some PS4 users can already pre-load ‘Destiny’ Beta

While the beta of Bungie’s Destiny was expected to drop on July 17, it would seem some users are already able to pre-load the game. The 14.3GB beta download is said to be available to people who pre-ordered the game digitally with those who ordered it from the EU PSN Store being able to pre-load the game. However, this doesn’t mean gamers have an early peek into the game. An error message still shows up when users try to play the game. It does, however, save time for people who don’t have to download the beta when it drops on the 17th.
