The CW

Looks like Wonder Woman will be getting company in the DC Cinematic Universe. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. and DC are working on bringing Supergirl to the big screen. Oren Uziel, writer for The Cloverfield Paradox and 22 Jump Street, is said to be working on the script. No director, producer, or cast member have been named just yet nor can we say what the plot will be. Supergirl can be currently seen in a Greg Berlanti Warner Bros series that stars Melissa Benoist as the titular character. We’ll share any new information on the film.

‘Wonder Woman’ is now the top-grossing superhero origin movie

Clay Enos

Since the movie came out in June, Wonder Woman has been smashing records left and right. This time, it becomes the highest grossing superhero origin movie ever made. Director Patty Jenkins’ smash hit just earned US$821,750,942 worldwide. It overthrows 2002 Spider-Man film, which earned $821,708,551. According to BoxOfficeMojo, the three other best-selling origin films are Deadpool at $783,112,979, Guardians of the Galaxy at $773,328,629, and Suicide Squad at $745,600,054. These, however, have not been adjusted for inflation, as Business Insider points out, which means Spider-Man earned over a billion if that’s factored in.

But it still doesn’t detract from the success and popularity of Wonder Woman. It’s still the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe movie, highest-grossing live action film by a female director, one of the top five highest-grossing superhero movies of all time, and most tweeted movie of 2017. We’ll be seeing Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman next in the upcoming Justice League film.

Here’s a look at upcoming ‘Justice League’ with new trailer from SDCC

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC and Warner Bros. gives us a longer look at the upcoming Justice League movie. It shows plenty of action as the five heroes get together and deal with the world’s issues after Superman’s death in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The trailer gives us a look at the film’s villain Steppenwolf. We get a bit of humor too from Flash and Alfred, perhaps DC and Warner Bros.’ answer to the criticism about Batman v. Superman’s gloomier tone. There have been hints of Superman appearing in the film but we don’t know, of course, how this is going to come about. Justice League is set to hit theatres on November 17th.
