Flickr debuts Wall Art printing service worldwide

Have you found photos on Flickr that you think would make for great art for your home? Flickr has officially debuted its new Wall Art printing service for its users around the world. The printing sizes range from 8 by 10 inches up to 20 by 30 inches. You will be able to order prints on gallery-style canvas or have them wood-mounted. If you worry that you might blow up a low-resolution photo, Flickr limits the sizes available for those kinds of photos.

You will have to be signed in to order prints. With its worldwide expansion, Flickr is offering 40% off orders, you just need to use the coupon code GIFTS14.

Yahoo unveils new Flickr app for iPad

Yahoo-owned Flickr used to only be available on iPhones on iOS operating system. Now, it has a new iPad app that can support the Retina display of the old iPad Air and iPad mini as well as the new iPad mini and iPad Air 2. However, Flickr 3.2 app will only work with iOS 8. What you will get is the ability to see “up to 3,000,000 pixels per photo.” That number is roughly the amount of pixels on the devices’ 2048 x 1056 screens. You can view your Flickr feed in landscape and portrait, take photos with your iPad, and add live filters and histogram to your shots.

New mobile Flickr apps make capturing, sharing and discovering photos easier

Today, Flickr released new versions of its iPhone, iPod touch and Android apps to make it faster and easier to capture, share, and discover beautiful photos and videos.

Notable new features include:

  • Capture and edit up to 30 seconds of HD video, using the same live filters available for photos, directly in the app.

  • Smarter and faster search experience -- it could take up to three seconds per search in the past...now it takes 30 milliseconds.

  • Simpler navigation tools and a redesigned photostream that makes it even easier to share to Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook.

The new Flickr apps are free and available to download for Android in the Play Store, and rolling out for iPhone and iPod touch in the App Store. To learn more, check out Yahoo’s Tumblr post below or the Flickr blog here. Screenshots and videos are available here.
