Yahoo unveils new Flickr app for iPad

Yahoo-owned Flickr used to only be available on iPhones on iOS operating system. Now, it has a new iPad app that can support the Retina display of the old iPad Air and iPad mini as well as the new iPad mini and iPad Air 2. However, Flickr 3.2 app will only work with iOS 8. What you will get is the ability to see “up to 3,000,000 pixels per photo.” That number is roughly the amount of pixels on the devices’ 2048 x 1056 screens. You can view your Flickr feed in landscape and portrait, take photos with your iPad, and add live filters and histogram to your shots.

iPad Air coming to Canada tomorrow

iPad Air coming to Canada - Photo by Gadjo SevillaApple's latest tablet, the A7 processor-toting iPad Air ais expected to be available from Apple Retail Stores (opening at 8:00 am) as well as from Apple's Online Store. Designed from the ground-up for iOS 7 and featuring an all-new 64Bit desktop architecture, the new iPads are expected to earn Apple a lot of money for the holiday shopping season. iPad Air starts at $519 (16GB) Apple is continuing to sell the iPad 2 and last year's iPad mini as the entry level devices in both sizes at $399 and $319 respectively. The anticipated iPad mini with Retina display is expected to ship later in November but sources say initial supply is expected to be tight as production of the smaller (denser) Retina display is in short supply.

Apple updates iPad mini with Retina Display, lowers price on older model

Apple today announced the highly anticipated iPad mini with Retina Display. It is keeping last year's mini as an entry-level model for $319.99.

The new iPads feature the powerful and power-efficient Apple-designed A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, ultrafast wireless with faster built-in Wi-Fi and expanded LTE cellular connectivity, and the newly-designed iOS 7. While the Retina Display was expected (although some pundits expected supply to be sparse given the smaller Retina Display) no one thought Apple would outfit the smaller iPad with the latest A7 processors.

Join us live for tomorrow's Apple Event

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

I'm on the ground in foggy San Francisco for tomorrow's Apple Event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The venue is all dressed up and ready to go and the excitement is mounting for the upcoming announcements. Apple's invitation said "we still have a lot more to cover."

Speculation is on refreshed iPads and iPad minis, possible creative new Smart Covers, announcements for OS X Mavericks, update on the new Mac Pro as well as possible Intel Haswell updates to some of the MacBook Pro models and possibly some AppleTV news. I'll be reporting starting from 1PM ET/ 10 AM PT. Roaming data coverage for this event is generally provided by Roam Mobility.
