CES 2016: Griffin's BreakSafe adapter solves the MacBook's MagSafe deficiency

Mac Users have long enjoyed the benefits of the MagSafe adaptor for their notebooks. Last year's new MacBook used a USB Type-C port for charging and connectivity but did not inherit its bigger sibling's MagSafe connectors (because of the nature of USB Type-C). Thankfully, Griffin has gone ahead and remedied this for users who simply use the port for power and charging and who miss the convenience and safety that MagSafe offers.

The BreakSafe adapter (US $39.99),brings the safety and convenience back to newer MacBooks and other laptops with USB-C type connectors.

The quick-release magnetic connector (patent-pending) plugs into your laptop’s USB-C port and safely disconnects from the rest of the cable when under stress or strain, like tripping over the power cord.

Griffin and Crayola want you to design your own iPhone case

Griffin Technology and Crayola announced the availability of Crayola Case Creator, a protective case and app combo that lets users create one-of-a-kind cases for iPhone and iPod touch. Crayola Case Creator includes a clear protective hard shell case that protects users’ iOS devices while showcasing their artwork. Users can snap a photo or grab one from their photo album and turn it into a customized case. The free Case Creator app lets the imagination soar; children can add, resize and manipulate digital stickers to photos, or draw in Doodle mode with the app’s built-in crayons, paints and pens.

All artwork from the Crayola Case Creator app can be printed on included perforated inserts, sized and shaped to fit the clear case. And each creation can be saved to a gallery, e-mailed or shared to Facebook. Griffin Technology's Beacon Remote puts your iDevices in control

Having a remote for every device in our home entertainment centre can be confusing and frustrating (not to mention use up a lot of batteries.) Griffin Technologies has devised a solution powered by Dijit called the Beacon Remote which can be programmed to control over 200,000 devices right from any iOS device. Beacon isn't yet available but you can sign up on Griffin's website to get updates once it ships.

Defining the iPad Ecosystem

The Apple iPad will hit stores in about two months, which means that developers, accessory manufacturers and clever entrepreneurs will be clamouring to release new products that complement and enhance the tablet's features and functionality.
