The uses for a 3G-enabled tablet range from keeping families connected and entertained on trips, aiding cab drivers in navigation or communication, and a student’s companion for note taking and keeping in touch with family or friends.

Alcatel OneTouch seems to understand consumer needs and can create products that fit very specific needs but at affordable prices. This is evidenced by its various Android smartphones, its upcoming smart watch and the underrated OneTouch Pop 8 tablet.

Google Nexus 4 Coming to TELUS on April 19

TELUS will be offering the Google Nexus 4 starting on April 19th. This is the Pure Google flagship smartphone made by LG for Google and featuring the newest version of the Jelly Bean Android OS plus guarantee that new versions of said OS will come to this device. Available unlocked for $309 at the Google Play Store, it isn't yet known how much TELUS will price the device or whether their variant will be able to access 4G-LTE. The Nexus 4 is based on the LG Optimus G and while the 4G-LTE radio exists, it was rendered useless by Google.

Review: Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone

The Nokia Lumia 800 is one of this year's important handset releases. It is the first result of the collaboration between Microsoft and Nokia and it is also the first major release to run on the latest version of Windows Phone 7.5 codenamed Mango. 

The Lumia 800, exclusive to Telus for $24 on a three year plan,  is a flagship device that showcases Nokia's vast experience in making compelling smartphones and also shows off a more mature Windows Phone OS.

Video: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Honeycomb tablet WiFi + 3G

Here's a preview of Samsung's middle child in the Honeycomb tablet space. The skinny, yet accomplished Galaxy Tab 8.9 which takes the best features of the 10.1 Tab but sizes it down for improved portability. It features a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor and many of the features that make its larger brother so impressive, including the thin profile and light weight.
