Apple has started shipping the new iPod Touch as well as the iPod nano models revealed last month during the iPhone 5 launch event. All indications point to both these models being in stock in most Apple Stores with supplies increasing into the weekend. The new iPod Touch brings the larger 4-inch Retina Display of the iPhone 5, an improved 5 megapixel iSight camera and a powerful dual-core A5 chip. The new nano resembles a tiny iPod Touch with a 2.5 inch display, the ability to play back video as well as built-in Bluetooth.

Apple’s iOS 6 mobile operating system is the lifeblood of its ecosystem. It is the glue that holds together the popular iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads to thousands of applications that expand functionality and ease of use.
iOS 6 is the newest version of the oldest modern mobile operating system. iOS was a year ahead of the earliest dessert-themed mobile OS from Google and three years ahead of the tile happy Windows Phone.
