Audi and VW recall Q5 and Tiguan crossovers to replace Takata inflators

Audi and VW are recalling  734 examples of the 2015 Tiguan with production dates between January 15, 2015, and January 21, 2015, and the 2015 Q5 built between January 13, 2015, and February 3, 2015. What is being replaced are airbag inflators that can rupture after a crash.

This recall is the latest one of many for Takata related airbag issues. Honda recently recalled 2.2 million cars due to faulty Takata airbags. A side airbag ruptured in a 2015 Tiguan in June 2015, and the driver sustained slight injuries under the left arm. The person didn't need to seek medical attention. VW and Audi will advise owners on the recall.

How to: Install Netflix on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Netflix has been the one major service that never gave BlackBerry any love. They ignored the PlayBook, even if that doomed tablet had the requisite features to run the streaming service (plus a gorgeous 1024x600  screen and the capability to output video HD video via HDMI-out). With the advent of the BB10 handsets, the Z1, Q10, Z30 and Q5 -Netflix was once more conspicuously missing. Yes, you can get Netflix on a dinky Nintendo 2DS, but still no love for BB10. What's up with that?

Well, that changes today. Here's what you need to do to enjoy your Netflix subscription on your BlackBerry 10 device.

Comparing the BlackBerry Z30 to the Z10 and Q5

When it comes to BlackBerry devices nearing launch, they tend to go from non-existent, to "what the heck is that", to all-up-in-your-grill everywhere you look; so is the case for the yet-to-be announced BlackBerry Z30. This device is billed as the cream of the crop in terms of BlackBerry 10 products and designed/marketed to go head-to-head against the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One (I ommitted iPhone 5 for a number of reasons). Anyway, as I mentioned, this device was once but a rumour, but because of a few anxious device owners, is now the only thing to read about online, BlackBerry-wise.

BlackBerry Q5 coming to Koodo

The BlackBerry Q5 is the lower-cost model designed for emerging markets and a way for BlackBerry to bring the BB10 OS ecosystem to users of older devices like the Curve and Pearl lines whcih are still favoured in Asia-Pacific and Europe. Canadians will soon be getting the Q5 from Koodo.

The Q5 is listed at Koodo's website as coming soon on and will cost $50 with the Koodo tab plan or $350 outright. That sounds like a fair deal for what looks to be a solid smarpthone with a decent QWERTY keyboard and all the glory of BB10.
