BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1 available for existing BlackBerry 10 smartphones

It's been a long time coming but BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1 is finally here for in-market BlackBerry 10 devices, including the BlackBerry(R) Passport, Z30, Z3, Z10, Q10, and Q5, as well as the Porsche Design P'9983 and P'9982 smartphones.

Updating the rest of the BB 10 family of phones with the latest and greatest features, the update includes, BlackBerry Blend, BlackBerry Assistant, battery boosting technology, plus improvements to the BlackBerry Hub, calendar, camera, multimedia and more.

This latest version also introduces dual app stores, offering access to hundreds of thousands of apps through the BlackBerry Worldstorefront and the Amazon Appstore. 

BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1 offers a fresh look that incorporates updated icons and an instant action bar so that each user's most commonly accessed functions are in the center of their screen.

Netflix has been the one major service that never gave BlackBerry any love. They ignored the PlayBook, even if that doomed tablet had the requisite features to run the streaming service (plus a gorgeous 1024x600  screen and the capability to output video HD video via HDMI-out). With the advent of the BB10 handsets, the Z1, Q10, Z30 and Q5 -Netflix was once more conspicuously missing. Yes, you can get Netflix on a dinky Nintendo 2DS, but still no love for BB10. What's up with that?

BlackBerry Z30's no contract price will cost $700 

The BlackBerry Z30 flagship, which comes to market on October 15 is expected to cost $700 outright. Coming to Bell, TELUS and MTS on the aforementioned date, the Z30 is BlackBerrys attempt to attract phablet users and features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, a  new 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera and a large 2880mAh battery that's said to last for 25 hours.
