Robert Downey Jr. on his future as Iron Man: 'The war for me is over'
If you were holding out hope for Robert Downey Jr. to take on his now-iconic role as Iron Man, we're sorry to say, but he doesn't seem to be up for that anymore. In an interview with Parade, the actor said, "The war for me is over." Downey is focusing on the release of his new film Dolittle and looking for new roles. He added, "I personally have alighted to greener pastures." One of his latest projects is hosting a YouTube Originals learning series called The Age of A.I.
And while the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has introduced the idea of time travel and the multiverse, Downey told Extra in a separate interview that you never know what's going to happen, but he's done. "I hung up my guns and I'm good to let it go. I also think Marvel is on this journey now and they're trying a bunch of other stuff, and I'm excited for them to see how all that goes. It's hard to project." Some of the upcoming MCU titles include Black Widow, The Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. There are also the TV shows coming to Disney+ like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision.
