Dr. Dre might be going the R-rated route for Apple’s first original TV series

As you know, Dr. Dre joined Apple in 2014 when the company bought Beats back then. It seems he’ll be taking charge of the new and first Apple-produced TV series. Supposedly called “Vital Signs,” the semiautobiographical series will have six episodes and will supposedly include tons of sex and violence, including an extended orgy scene. This seems unlike what Apple is putting out with its rigidly define moral principles and its refusal to put pornography on the App Store. But if that is what gets them head-to-head with other big tech players like Amazon and Netflix, whose original content have been garnering them attention and awards, we’re not surprised if they take this route.

The show will supposedly be distributed through Apple Music and it isn’t clear if other Apple products and platforms will be tapped. Perhaps that oft-rumoured television service might be making its appearance? We can’t say until Apple confirms the existence of the show, which they aren’t commenting on at the moment.

Pandora reportedly wants to get acquired

Pandora seems to be positioning itself to be acquired. A report from The New York Times claims Pandora, with the guidance from Morgan Stanley, is currently in preliminary discussions for a possible acquisition. It isn’t specified if there are potential buyers. Recent moves from Pandora’s end—like buying technology from the now-shuttered Rdio and acquiring Ticketfly—are believed to help make the service more attractive to streaming music fans, especially with its stocks down 60 percent since October 2015. But it can also be looked at as a way to make the company more attractive to potential buyers. Pandora won’t comment on the report but we won’t be surprised if we hear more about this in the future.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge rumoured to be carrying a 3,600mAh battery

If recent leaks are to be believed, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 edge will be getting a rather sizable upgrade battery-wise. A recent FCC filing shows that one of the new flagships will be sporting a 3,600mAh battery, which will be up from the current 2,600mAh battery of the S6 edge. The screenshot shows the FCC ID A3LSMG935KOR and the battery size. The FCC ID was previously confirmed to be for the S7 edge. There is no other similar screenshot though that confirms this to be the Galaxy S7’s battery.

Google reportedly working on VR OS and new headset

There seems to be more coming from Google when it comes to the virtual reality front. According to Financial Times, Google is working on a more VR-friendly version of its Android operating system as well as developing a new headset that could rival the likes of the Gear VR. We know Google already has Cardboard but that US$10 VR headset can use an upgrade. The supposed new VR headset will also allow you to slide your Android phone in but will have extra sensors to give a more responsive and immersive experience for its user.

At least two of Google's top designers are working on their VR efforts. These include the design department now run by former head of Search Jon Wiley and Joshua To, who is design lead for the company's app design. We're excited to see what their work will produce. The new headset is said to be coming around September or possibly even later than that.
