Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite gets 3,100mAh battery

The rumour mill for the new Samsung Galaxy S10 devices keep spinning. The latest one revolves around the cheapest version of the lineup. GSMArena reports on the battery capacity of the Galaxy S10 Lite. The image above, which was taken from the Korean certification agency, shows that the battery is rated at 3,100mAh. And while, it might be considered on the lower end of the spectrum, this is the Lite version of the S10. It is expected to have the smallest display at 5.8 inches and it could mean it uses less battery than its more premium siblings. The Galaxy S10, which will reportedly sport a 6.1-inch screen, is rumoured to be getting a 3,500mAh battery. While the 6.4-inch Galaxy S10 Plus will reportedly have a 4,000mAh battery.

Leak shows off the hole-punch display on the rumoured Galaxy S10

Serial gadget leaker Evan Blass took to Twitter again to share a look of the rumoured Galaxy S10. The phone features a camera cutout at the top-right corner of the screen with extremely thin bezels to the side, the bottom gets a slightly thicker chin than the rest of the phone. This “Infinity-O display” design was first seen in the Galaxy A8s, which Samsung revealed a few weeks back. It’s the first time Samsung has put any kind of interruption on the screen as the company has managed to stay notch-free for its flagships. Blass claims this is what the standard S10 is going to look like. He also mentions that this phone will be able to wirelessly charge other phones and watches, similar to what the Huawei Mate 20 Pro can do. Four Galaxy S10 models are expected to arrive at the end of February (when Samsung usually launches its S line of phones)—there’s supposedly going to be a Lite model, a Plus model, and a 5G one.

Samsung might be introducing a party trick to the Galaxy S10’s camera

We might see that illuminated ring around the upcoming Samsung flagships

The leaks for the Galaxy S10 keep coming. One of the latest ones might be more of a party trick than anything else. According to Ice Universe on Twitter, there will be an illuminated ring around the front-facing, pinhole camera. But it’ll be making its debut first in the Galaxy A8s before making its way to the S10 and S10+. Supposedly the S10 will be getting a single front-facing camera, while the S10+ will be getting dual front-facing shooters. Both will be getting the illuminated ring. It’s said the ring will glow when you fire up the camera or use facial recognition to unlock the handset. Not much else is known at this point, but it might be safe to assume these won’t be bright enough to act as a flash for the camera.

Samsung is reportedly working on its own take to Google’s Night Sight photography feature

Is Samsung going to take on Google's Night Sight mode, which we see in action in this photo?

Samsung wants you to have a Bright Night, and by that we mean, the company looks to be working on its own take to Google’s Night Sight mode. XDA-Developers reports it has found code in the latest Android Pie Build for the Galaxy Note9 that shows a new night photography mode called Bright Night. According to the code, it will let you “take bright pictures even in very dark conditions.” Text in the code suggests it will work similarly to Night Sight by taking multiple shots and using software to combine these photos together. Samsung is known to release new photography features with its flagships, so XDA speculates we might see Bright Night in the upcoming Galaxy S10, which is scheduled for a release by the end of February 2019.
