‘Predator: Hunting Ground’ is multiplayer game coming to the PS4 in 2020

The team behind the Friday the 13th game is making a new Predator game for the PlayStation 4—and it’s coming out next year. IllFonic announced at PlayStation State of Play that they are working on Predator: Hunting Ground, a competitive, online multiplayer experience. One group in the game will control the firepower and attempt to do paramilitary missions, while one player will be controlling the Predator. According to the developers, it’s working closely with Fox and Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring this movie franchise’s world into the game. IllFonic promises there will be surprises for everyone once the game arrives in 2020.

Seagate launches PlayStation-branded Game Drive

Perhaps looks matter to you and you’re willing to pay for it. Seagate just launched a new officially licensed Game Drive for your PlayStation 4. Like other hard drives, it’ll let you add extra space to your console. This 2TB drive, however, matches your console—if you care that much about aesthetics. According to Seagate, the Game Drive can add around 50 more games, if you’re interested. It promises “full-speed” gaming similar to what you’d get from the PS4’s internal hard disk. It supports any PS4 using at least version 4.50 of firmware or newer. It’s coming to North America next week and goes for CA$120.

You’ll need at least 99GB of hard drive space for ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’

It might be time to clear some space on your PS4 or Xbox One if you’re waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2 to come out. Rockstar Games support website showed you’d need at least 99GB of space to accommodate the game—whether you get a digital or physical copy of Red Dead Redemption 2. On the PS4, you’ll need 99GB if you install it via disc. If you get it digitally, you’ll need an extra 50GB for the installation process (which will be freed up once the game is installed). Now for the Xbox One, whether via disc or digitally, you’ll need 107GB of space. Those who pre-ordered the game will be able to start the pre-load process today at 12 a.m. ET. The game officially launches on October 26.

Nintendo and Microsoft play nice in new ‘Minecraft’ cross-play trailer, leaves Sony out of it

The words “Survive Together” appear alongside the logos of Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Switch in a new trailer promoting cross-platform play for Minecraft on the two consoles. It seems jarring at first but a rather fitting image of how playing nice works not just for the manufacturers and developers but for the gamers, too. The trailer shows two players using their respective consoles to play Minecraft. And Sony’s refusal to be part of this collaboration is highlighted even more.

Sony continues to keep everything close to its own chest. According to Polygon, one former Sony executive said the company’s refusal to allow cross-platform gaming comes down to not wanting items bought on other platforms to be used on the PlayStation 4. And if they continue down this path, they run the risk of being left behind by competition. Here’s to hoping they change their minds in the future.
