Netflix starts testing two Android games in Poland

Source: Netflix

Netflix is ready to give a bit of a taste of its gaming plans. The company is testing out two games on Android revolving around Stranger Things. Some Android users in Poland can now play Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3. You won't be able to stream the game live like with Microsoft xCloud. Instead, Netflix is a hub where you can download games to your phone, like Steam on the PC.

The games aren't exclusive on Netflix as both titles are available on the Google Play Store for now. But you will need a Netflix account to play. The company plans include games in your membership and won't come with ads or in-app purchases. iOS compatibility is coming out in a few months. Netflix is quick to preface that they are still in the "very, very early days" of its gaming initiative, so don't be surprised if it changes up in the coming months. We're really curious to see how this turns out.

'Stranger Things 3: The Game' comes to mobile

The Stranger Things 3: The Game has just officially launched on mobile. It's now available on both iOS and Android at $6.99. This time around, we still get some familiar scenes from the series alongside some "never-before-seen quests, character interactions, and secrets." It still has that retro art style reminiscent of the era combined with modern gameplay mechanics.

‘Stranger Things 3’ breaks Netflix streaming views since its July 4th premiere

Netflix

Netflix is proudly showing off that it breaks another one of its own streaming records with the latest season of Stranger Things. Since its debut on July 4th, the third season of the show has been seen by over 40.7 million Netflix accounts, with over 18 million having finished the whole season in the first four days. It’s now the most-viewed show of any kind on the service. Netflix treats these views as anyone who has watched at least 70 percent of an episode or movie. Netflix didn’t specify which region gained the most viewership. For context, Umbrella Academy, one of Netflix’s recent big TV show releases, took a month to reach 45 million account views.

‘Stranger Things 3’ trailer brings the gang back together

The Stranger Things crew are back together and we get plenty of onscreen action. It starts off with a homecoming party to Dustin and a look at all things ‘80s. Somehow the almost three-minute clip ends up with the Upside Down bringing in its menace and monstrosity into the mix. Perhaps a nod to when the show is going to air (July 4th), there is even a big Fourth of July party thrown in there.
