Ubisoft closes 30th anniversary giveaway with ‘Assassin’s Creed III’

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft has been giving away free copies of its games. So far, it has given away games like Rayman Legends, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. For this month, Ubisoft chooses to pluck something from the Assassin’s Creed games and the game developer opted for Assassin’s Creed III.

To get your hands on the game, you’ll need to head over to the Ubisoft Club page and sign into your Uplay account (or get one if you don’t have one yet). There is no word yet when the promotion itself would end but Ubisoft’s “30 Days of Giveaways” promo ends on December 23, so to play safe, you should get the game ahead of that date.

Ubisoft plans to make multiplayer VR lineup support cross-platform play

With virtual reality gaming in its infancy, getting a large pool of players on one platform is tough. Thankfully, Ubisoft is thinking the same way and is planning to make its major multiplayer VR releases available across various platforms. The support for cross-platform play will start with Eagle Flight. It’ll work for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive (when it releases). Some of the other games to get cross-platform support include Werewolf Within, which comes out on December 6, and Star Trek: Bridge Crew, which comes out March 14.

Ubisoft outs flashy ‘Assassin’s Creed’ trailer

It’s E3 time so it means we’re getting a lot of really flashy trailers from upcoming titles. No stranger to this is Ubisoft and the new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. It’s not very indicative of what game play will be like but that’s usually how trailers at E3 are. We see Jacob and his crew, The Rooks, jump between stagecoaches and run across rooftops. It looks very cinematic and dramatic. We will get to see more game play hopefully before the October 23rd release of the game.
