Waze now estimates how long you'll be in traffic

Waze now measures how long you're going to be stuck in traffic. The Traffic Bar feature first made available on Android now makes its way to iOS. It takes into account traffic jams and gives you an estimate of how long you'll be in the jam for. Remember that since it's an estimate, it isn't 100 percent accurate.

The latest update also allows you to port your old account onto a new device once you decided to upgrade. This means your points get moved as well.

Waze may come pre-installed on your next Android phone

The next generation of Android phones might come with the Waze. The navigation app is part of Google’s Mobile Services, which is a list of apps manufacturers and carriers can ship with their devices. If you remember, Google bought Waze two years ago and kept it separate from Google Maps. Of course, it seems like a plan to get more people to use Waze but that’ll still depend on the carrier and manufacturer if they intend to carry it.

Waze for Android and iOS gets calendar integration

Google’s “social GPS” app Waze has received an update to support for navigation to destinations indicated in calendar entries. The app will only show two events at a time though so you wouldn’t feel overwhelmed.

If you prefer not to activate the feature, you can disable it on your Android device from the app’s settings menu or from the phone settings on your iOS device. There is no word yet on when it’s coming to Windows Phone, though.
