Skechers launches wearable tech for kids

I've always got my eye out for wearable tech that is useful and fun. A surprising entry into this category was unveiled earlier at CES by Skechers with something fun for kids which earned the company bragging rights with the title of "Best of CES 2015 Finalist". What's even more surprising is how quickly it will be introduced into the market. 

Skechers Canada has just announced the newest collection will hit the shelves running with the latest line called 'Game Kids' just in time for Spring Break.

Ringly's wearable tech that is on this girl's list

Finally. Yes, I mean it. FINALLY we are seeing more stylish offerings for women when it comes to wearable tech. Let's face it, while the smart watches are nice, they haven't quite appealed to the fashion forward female market. But developers and designers are racing to meet the screaming wants of women everywhere. We're starting to see interesting smart devices in forms of bracelets and pendants and even some developments into purses. All of the items are serving different needs for everyday life.

CES 2015: The Mira fitness bangle is not coming to Canada

Following a similar concept to FitBit, Withings, Jawbone and other fitness-focused wearables, the Mira by Mira is an activity tracker that aims to stand out by making their bracelets female friendly, offering sizes like petite, small and medium in a variety of colors. Mira is showcasing their fitness bracelet on the floor here at CES. 

In a conversation with MobileSyrup today, Mira has confirmed that they have no plans on launching their offering in the Canadian market. In fact, they have no plans on launching outside of the US at all. Interesting play, but maybe a smart one.

‘iWatch’ tipped to get its own app store

The rumour mill keeps turning and they seem to be convinced that Apple will be unveiling its new “iWatch” wearable at its upcoming September 9^th event. A new report has surfaced stating the iWatch will have its own App Store and will be able to run third-party applications. According to 9to5mac.com, reports say that a handful of high-profile social network and services have been seeded pre-release version of the iWatch SDK, with Facebook being one of them. Of course, we have to take everything with a grain of salt still but until September 9 comes and goes, we’re pretty sure people will keep talking about this heavily rumoured wearable.
