Lenovo's Windows 8 tablet shoots for enterprise

Acer may be bellyaching about Microsoft's decision to make its own Windows 8 Surface Tablet, but it seems Lenovo is ready for the challenge from Redmond.  Aimed directly at the enterprise market, Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is 0.39 inches thick and weighs a paltry 1.3 pounds, it is  thinner and lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Featuring a 10-hour battery life, the legendary ThinkPad construction and 3G and 4G connectivity options, this device is set to smooth the landing of Windows 8 for on-the-go executives or field operatives (and students). No pricing or availability has been revealed but we expect this one to be out in time for Windows 8's October 26 launch

Windows 8 branding and packaging revealed

Image from The VergeIt seems like Microsoft's shift to the newer, cleaner and sleeker design and user interface in Windows Phone and Windows 8 is also translating nicely to their product packaging. The first images of Windows 8 boxes were uncovered by The Verge and show the Windows 8 and Windows 8 Variant boxes which somehow reflect the screen and livetile layouts from Windows Phone. Windows 8 is expected to ship October 26 although the Release Preview has been around for months for anyone interested in trying out the revamped OS.
