Withings ScanWatch Light: A simpler, more affordable hybrid watch

Withings

If you are looking for a simpler and more affordable option than the Withings ScanWatch 2, you might want to consider the ScanWatch Light. This hybrid watch can monitor your activity, sleep, and heart rate, but it does not have the advanced features of the ScanWatch 2. For example, it lacks the sensors for ECG, SpO2, and temperature. It also has lower-quality hardware, with Gorilla Glass instead of Sapphire Glass, and a less precise accelerometer.

The ScanWatch Light is currently available for pre-order in some regions and is expected to ship in October. You can get the 38mm size for US$249.95 (around CA$342).

What's new in the Withings ScanWatch 2?

Withings

Looking for a hybrid smartwatch that combines classic style and smart features? You might want to check out the Withings ScanWatch 2, the successor of the popular ScanWatch. The ScanWatch 2 has a new temperature sensor that can alert you to possible infections. It also has improved sensors for more accurate and efficient tracking. Plus, it now supports menstrual cycle tracking, so you can log your data and get predictions on your wrist.

This hybrid smartwatch keeps the same elegant design as the previous model. You can choose from two sizes (38mm or 42mm) and different colours and bezels. The steel versions have black or white faces with lugs, while the rose gold versions have stone or dark blue faces and bands.

The ScanWatch 2 offers a sleek hybrid display, a comprehensive and high-quality tracking system, and a 30-day battery life. It also works with Health Mate, which is considered one of the best fitness-tracking platforms in its category.

The Withings ScanWatch 2 is available for pre-order and will ship in October. The price starts at US$349.95 (around CA$477) for the 38mm model.

Withings U-Scan brings a urine lab into your home

Source: Withings

Your pee can tell a lot about your health, so Withings is banking on that with its new U-Scan device. This urine analyzer attaches to the front of your toilet like a scent puck. When you pee, it can collect a sample of your urine to analyze and send the results to your phone.

It can monitor your hydration and nutrient levels, and test your urine's pH levels to determine your overall kidney health. You swap out the cartridges for it to track different things like one is used to track menstrual cycles. A cartridge is said to last for about three months of testing.

Withings Body Scan connected scale measures body composition, nerve activity, and more

Source: Withings

French company Withings recently introduced its most advanced smart scale to date. The new Body Scan can monitor and measure ECG, weight, segmented body composition, and even nerve activity. It's made with high-strength tempered glass similar to the Body Cardio, but it gets extra sensors to help you learn more about what's going on in your body.

It has four weight sensors, 14 Indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes within the platform, and four stainless steel electrodes on the new handle.

The handle can pass through safe, low-level electrical signals to your entire body, allowing a new 6-lead ECG to detect heart arrhythmias via these electrodes and those on the base of the scale. An embedded algorithm can detect heart patterns associated with atrial fibrillation.
