Dullsville and The Doodleverse premiere at TIFF 2024

Doodles, a character-driven universe and next-generation entertainment company, together with Pharrell Williams, officially premiered ‘Dullsville and The Doodleverse,’ a groundbreaking animation and music experience, at an event that took place during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) at Toronto's Design Exchange. Coi Leray, who created music for the soundtrack and lent her voice to a character featured in the animated special, joined Pharrell Williams, the Doodles team, Trippie Redd, and a room full of culture and entertainment leaders at the film’s debut.   

“After meeting with various studios, we decided to bet on ourselves and develop Dullsville and The Doodleverse with an experience that goes way beyond a pilot or film,” said Julian Holguin, CEO of Doodles. “As one of the largest and most influential film festivals in the world, TIFF is the perfect place to debut this milestone project from Doodles.”

Apple AirPods Pro 2 can work as hearing aids

Apple didn't launch new AirPod Pros at its recent event. However, it introduced new features to the AirPods Pro 2 to help improve or at least protect your hearing. Apple introduced an "end-to-end hearing health experience" that introduces features to ensure your hearing health is good. The most notable feature turns the Apple AirPods Pro 2 into a hearing aid.

But that isn't coming to Canada yet, so let's talk about what we are getting first. The aptly named Hearing Protection shields your ears from loud environmental noise while preserving the sound signature of what you're listening to. The ear tips already offer some passive noise reduction, while its H2 chip helps actively reduce louder sounds at 48,000 times per second.

Annapurna Interactive hit with mass resignation

Following a breakdown in talks for spinning off Annapurna's game division, the staff of Annapurna Interactive resigned. "All 25 members of the Annapurna Interactive team collectively resigned," former president Nathan Gary and staffers told Bloomberg. "This was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make and we did not take this action lightly."

Annapurna Interactive is a game company known for publishing independent hits like Stray, Outer Wilds, Gorogoa, Neon White, What Remains of Edith Finch, and many more. Gary tried to negotiate a deal with Annapurna Pictures lead Megan Ellison to turn it into an independent developer. But a week before its latest negotiations, the co-heads of Annapurna Interactive, Deborah Mars and Nathan Vella, along with Gary, announced their departure.
