CES 2020: Samsung to bring its vertically-rotating Sero TV to more markets

Samsung originally introduced its Sero TV in Korea, but the company plans to bring it to "several global markets" this year. Samsung hasn't indicated yet when it will be available. With its name meaning "vertical" in Korean, the 43-inch television can switch from landscape to portrait orientation, and it's a 4K display with QLED colour. The Sero TV lets you watch vertical videos from platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and whatever portrait videos you've recorded on your phone without having to deal with the pillar boxing black bars that happen when you watch vertical videos in landscape.

The Sero has an integrated, non-removable stand, which comes with a 4.1-channel, 60-watt speaker system. Its stand offers enough vertical clearance, so the TV doesn't hit the floor when you rotate it to portrait. Samsung Galaxy phone owners can just tap their phone against the Sero's frame to start screen mirroring. iPhone users will need to use the included remote control to switch the display to portrait. The Sero does support AirPlay 2.

CES 2020: LG introduces slim GX Gallery OLED TVs you can hang on your wall

One of the newest innovations LG launched at its Consumer Electronics Show keynote is its new GX Gallery Series of TVs, which are alternatives to the ultrathin wallpaper OLED TVs the company has been selling for a few years. The GX model is just 20mm thick, letting you hang this television like a picture frame without the add-on box of its predecessor. All the components are hidden behind the TV. And thanks to a specially-designed indent space for the wall-mount, there will be no noticeable gap between the TV and your wall. LG will sell the GX Series in 55-, 65-, and 77-inch versions. There is no word yet about availability or price.
