There won’t be an extended cut for ‘The Force Awakens’ Blu-ray edition

If you were thinking scoring the Blu-ray version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will score you extra footage you didn’t see in the cinema, well you thought wrong. The film’s director J.J. Abrams has said there will be extras in the DVD/Blu-ray release but these will come in the form of deleted scenes from the movie. He hasn’t specified though how many scenes or how long these scenes will run.  Abrams said during the recent panel that the first cut of The Force Awakens clocked in at two hours and 50 minutes, which is 35 minutes longer than what we saw at the cinemas. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet when the DVD/Blu-ray editions of the new Star Wars trilogy will come out.

‘The Interview’ to bring extra footage to Blu-ray and DVD copies

After backtracking from their announcement that they weren’t releasing the highly controversial The Interview, Sony Pictures Entertainment is looking to get the film out there. They have announced plans to release the film on Blu-ray and DVD starting February 17th with 90 minutes of extra footage. There will be deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a seven-minute blooper reel. They call it the “Freedom Edition”—which is cheekily named but done a bit in bad taste. It is their movie though so they can do what they want.

Boo-Ray

It just sits there, mocking me. It isn't even plugged in anymore, hasn't been for months. I thought about selling it, but nobody is buying these things, not at the price I paid when I first took it home. Its my Blu-Ray player and it is one of the worst purchases I've had the misfortune of making.
