Video: Facebook Home's odd new ad makes me not want to install it

So, Facebook launched Facebook Home last week. Their new Android application that lives on user's homescreens and pushes out updates and chatheads making Facebook's messaging and wall features take over user's smartphones. Now there's a new advertisement that's supposed to generate buzz for the new user-centric application but instead gives us the willies. The advertisement points out just how pervasive and interrupting Facebook can be. It also promotes using your smartphone in a plane even after the flight attendant has asked you to put your phone away.

HTC One delayed, now coming by late April

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

I've received word from HTC Canada that the much awaited HTC One smartphones are going to be delayed in North America to around the end of April, a month after the flagship device was expected to come to market. Below is the statement shared by HTC.

Below is a statement from HTC regarding the availability of the HTC One.

HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.

No reason has been given for the delay although some have speculated HTC's difficulty in procuring some of the components for the device. Will the delay dampen customer's desire for the HTC One now that various other flagship Android devices have been announced or does HTC need to do more to appease its customers?

Either way, today's sale fail doesn't speak well of Google who announced the new devices on October 29, generated intense hype and interest and then failed to deliver on product stock.

Carrier hiccups giving buyers grief on iPhone 5 launch day

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

We've been through iPhone launches before so one would think that Canadian carriers would have figured out how to compensate for the demand of new signups.

Walking through the downtown core today we saw that a Telus store had closed its doors to customers because of a nationwide outage that hit at 7:30 in the morning and that hasn't yet been resolved. The Telus outage seems to have affected their website with users being unable to access their accounts. The issue was resolved late in the afternoon.
