Fitbit Force fitness tracker recalled for skin irritation issues

Fitbit is recalling its flagship fitness tracker, the Fitbit Force, because it is causing some users to get skin rashes, which is definitely an issue for a device that's designed to be worn all day and even at night. Existing Fitbit Force units are being recalled and refunds are being issued. Early build issues seem to be a recurring problem for these wearable devices, remember the Jawbone Up was recalled for numerous glitches last year. iPhone 5s changes into a fitness tracker with Fitbit iOS update

If you don’t have your Fitbit device on you, the new update to the iOS application will remedy that situation. Fitbit has introduced a MobileTrack to turn your iPhone 5s and the new iPads into a “basic” activity tracker. It makes use of Apple’s M7 chip to monitor your movement while not sacrificing too much of your battery’s life.

Fitbit updates Android app to work with new Nexus and Motorola smartphones

 

Fitbit has just released an update for its Android app to support some of the recent Google Nexus and Motorola handsets. The update comes in the heels of the addition of Bluetooth Low Energy into Android 4.3, meaning Fitbit trackers can now sync with BLE-equipped Android devices. The fitness tracker manufacturer added support for Nexus 4, 5 and 7 (2013 version) as well as the Motorola Moto X, Droid Razr M, HD, Maxx HD, Mini, Maxx and Ultra.

Fitbit's wearable health monitoring gadgets now available in Canada

Fitbit, the market leader in the fast-growing Connected Health & Fitness category, announced today a national Canadian launch of its best-selling products. For the first time, Fitbit’s wearable health devices, including the popular Fitbit One clip, the newly released Fitbit Flex wristband and its wireless scale will be available at Best Buy Canada, Future Shop and London Drugs stores across the country and online with other major retailers, including Sport Chek joining later this summer.
