Nissan recalling 768,000 Rogue SUVs globally for electrical shorts, hood latches

Nissan has initiated the recall of 768,000 Rogue SUV's globally including 69,300 sold in Canada under two separate recalls, specifically to fix electrical shorts that could cause fires and faulty hood latches.

The recalls cover more than 552,000 Rogue small SUVs from 2008 through 2013 plus Rogue Select SUVs from 2014. Nissan says the Rogue Select wasn't sold in Canada but the Canadian recall applies to 53,312 of the other Rogue models.

Snow and salty water can reportedly seep through the driver's side carpet to a wiring harness, causing electrical shorts. No injuries have been reported due to this finding.

The smaller recall involves a secondary hood latch. If the main hood latch is released and the secondary latch fails, the hood could open while the SUVs are being driven.

Apple announces new record of 10 million new iPhones sold in first 3 days

As expected, the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus opening weekend broke sales records for Apple. The company is saying that 10 million units were sold over the first three days that the new devices were offered.

"Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn't be happier," said Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook. "We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible."
