Google Now coming to Chrome browser

Google Now is the de facto personal assistant and notification service running on Android smartphones and tablets. The latest build of the Chrome browser is going to start featuring this location-based feature. This means PCs and Macs running Chrome should soon get the option to get voice search, reminders for flights, sports events movie times as well as commute times. The service is tied into users who already enable Google Now on their mobile devices.

Google adds ‘Take A Picture’ and ‘Take a Video’ voice commands to Search

Google is looking to make it easier for you to take photos and videos. The tech company has added “Take a picture” and “Take a video” (or “Record a video”) voice command into Search. You just need to launch Google Now and have it open the camera app to the needed mode.

Microsoft's Cortana assistant screens leak

She's not only inspired by the voluptous AI from Halo, Cortana is Microsoft's take on the personal mobile assistant and their answer to Siri and Google Now. The Verge showed off some screens from the upcoming feature which will be omniscient and tightly integrated to the Windows Phone UX. Cortana is expected to be a learning assistant, it will note user patterns, pull contextual data as well as location-based information. Cortana is expected to be unvelied to developers in the upcoming Microsoft Build conference.

Google brings Nexus 5’s Google Now Launcher to Android flagships

Google has released its Google Now Launcher on the Nexus 5 as a standalone app for Nexus and Play edition devices. The app now brings the “Ok Google” hotword voice searches and view of the contextual cards to other Android users. Unfortunately, we’re not sure if Google plans on bringing the app to other Android devices outside of the flagships.
