SMS Continuity won’t be available at iOS 8 launch

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on SMS Continuity feature, you’ll have to wait a bit more. According to a press release from Apple, SMS Continuity and iCloud Photo Library will come as an update and not with the iOS 8 release on September 17. For those who don’t know, SMS Continuity gives you the ability to continue messaging on your Mac and iPad if you receive it from your phone. And iCloud Photo Library lets you access photos you have in your iCloud on any of your devices.

SMS Continuity will be available as a free update in October, while iCloud Photo Library will come out in beta.

Video: First look at the iPhone 6

Not to be overshadowed by Apple's newest baby, the Apple Watch, the new iPhone 6 is a pretty impressive smartphone by any standard. Considered the best version yet in the evolutionary line of devices that started with the original iPhone, the iPhone 6 brings a faster processor, a larger Retina HD screen as well as all the bells and whistles needed to run iOS 8, Apple Pay as well as push the Apple ecosystem to a whole new level. Here's a demo of the 4.7-inch model. What got me excited about the iPhone 6 is the new design that's more cohesive overalll and fits in with the iPad line. The addition of more cellular bands, an awesome new camera and software for photos and video as well as the overall sleekness and refinement of the iPhone 6 will impress anyone who loves smartphones.

Apple readies to roll out HealthKit solution to Medical Professionals in U.S.

Apple has started rolling out its HealthKit solution to medical professionals in the U.S. by setting up collabortions with major medical centers like Mount Sinai, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and Allscripts to use the new system.

The Health app and Healthkit development kit are part of the improvements coming to iOS 8 this fall. Ideal for tracking patient's data like blood pressure, pulse, and weight, HealthKit can revolutionize patient monitoring and care and possibly even alert healthcare professionals if a sudden or unexpected drop in patient's vitals is recorded. The Health app integrates information captured by various sensors in wearable devices and silos them into one dashboard. Launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, Health and HealtKit are two technologies that have led many to believe that Apple is developing its own wearable device.
