OnePlus 11 debuts with a sub-CA$1K starting price

Photo: OnePlus

OnePlus latest attempt at a flagship killer has officially debuted in the international market. The OnePlus 11 comes to Canada with a $999 price tag for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and $1,149 for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. There's no storage expansion here, so if you need that extra space, you'll have to get the more expensive option. OnePlus pairs that with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with Android 13-based OxygenOS 13, which we're happy to report is getting four years of software updates instead of the abysmal two in the past.

It gets a reasonably sized 5,000mAh battery that you can top up in just 25 minutes with its 100W SuperVOOC charging support. You can only hit those speeds with the included charging brick and USB-A to USB-C cable. OnePlus takes an unusual approach of not including a USB-C to USB-C cable. But the company reasons that users will bring the cable and the power brick around and the USB-A to USB-C interface is more useful (at least for now) for charging. Unfortunately, there's no wireless charging here, either.

Here's your first look at OnePlus' first tablet

Source: OnePlus

We get our first official and unofficial look at OnePlus' first tablet, the OnePlus Pad. The company is scheduled to unveil the OnePlus 11 internationally on February 7. And it looks like the OnePlus Pad will make its debut on the same day. The event teaser image for the US shows a new banner image with the upcoming phone and earbuds placed on top of the tablet. Another image from its Indian page shows a camera bump on the OnePlus Pad similar to the OnePlus 11's camera. It also shows the tablet in a green colour option.

Leaked images from OnLeaks and MySmartPrice also show off more renders of the tablet expected to sport an 11.6-inch display and metal unibody chassis.

OnePlus will be launching its next flagship first in its home country before its international launch event in India on February 7. The company will first unveil the OnePlus 11 5G in China on January 4. The new flagship is expected to get features like LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Its base model will get 12GB of RAM, and it's expected to have a 16GB RAM variant in China with 512GB of storage. The green colour we've seen in the past OnePlus flagship phone will make a comeback along with a black option.

The OnePlus 11 5G gets a triple-camera setup on the back, which it developed with Hasselblad. The alert slider comes back to this Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phone. We'll make sure to update you with the official specs when the event happens.

OnePlus 11 render gets leaked along with rumoured specs

We've heard about the OnePlus 11's colour scheme a few days ago, but now we're getting a closer look at what leakers @OnLeaks and Gadget Gang claim is the official render of the phone. We see the return on the alert slider, wraparound camera bar, and more prominent Hasselblad logo.

Aside from showing the device renders, the duo claims these are the specs to expect on the OnePlus 11. It'll supposedly come with a high refresh rate 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, up to a whopping 16GB RAM, and a 5,000mAh with 100W charging included. At the rear, the OnePlus 11 is expected to come with a 50-megapixel main sensor, 48-megapixel ultrawide, and 32-megapixel 2x telephoto. The selfie camera is said to be a 16-megapixel lens. Previous reports claim it'll be one of the first to adopt UFS 4.0 storage. It's also likely to run on OxygenOS 13.1. The release of the phone should be happening in the first quarter of 2023.
