Facebook Home adds Instagram, Flickr to Android lock screens

While Facebook Android beta testers have had this capability for a while already, the new Facebook update introduces the integration of apps into Home. You can now browse apps, such as Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Flickr, from your lock screen. The video above gives a quick peek into the new functionality.

Bing adds Pinterest boards to image search

Microsoft has announced a partnership with Pinterest in hopes of capturing the Google market. If you use Bing to look up images, a new feature called image collections shows related Pinterest boards at the right side of the search results.

Pinterest working on incorporating ads with promoted pins experiment

Pinterest has announced an advertising/monetization experiment that will have promoted pins appear in search results and category feeds. This experiment, Pinterest CEO and founder Ben Silbermann explains, is not yet going to charge businesses as they want to obtain user feedback first.

Silbermann assures Pinterest users that the ads will be done in a tasteful manner, are going to indicate that they are ads, and are going to be relevant to your interests.
