Launch two Android apps instantly in split-screen mode with Screens

A new free Android app is making it easy for you to somewhat automate launching two apps in split-screen mode. Called Screens, the app lets you pick two apps that support split screen and have these launch simultaneously when you need them. Screens creates a shortcut for you to allow this action, lessening the number of taps you need to do to get your preferred app working alongside each other. Developer Keep Away From Fire has even released the source code of the app on GitHub to give other developers access to the app and even develop on it further.

Video: LG's 4K HDTV line for 2014

LG's 4K HDTV range encompasses some newer IPS sets as well as the truly innovative OLED 4K HDTVs that also offer curved design. LG says that unlike other companies' curved screen technologies, curved screens are a natural application of OLED technology. The best news is that LG is bullish about making 4K HDTVs more affordable while maintaining the highest quality standards and features that users look for the most. Video was taken at LG's HQ in Toronto earlier today.

Samsung introduces the curved smartphone with the Galaxy Round

That concave smartphone above is the Samsung Galaxy Round, it is launching tomorrow in Korea under the SK Network and it features a slightly curved 5.7-inch OLED screen with a 1080p HD resolution. Aside from the unique curvature of the screen, which is oddly similar to some HDTVs that we're seeing this year, the Galaxy Round will offer some software tweaks to enhance the screen's use. If it is on a flat surface, simply push down on the Galaxy Round to tilt it up slightly and it displays time and notifications. The new phablet-sized device will cost the equivalent of $1,000. No word on yet on North American availability.
