James Gunn might be writing the next 'Suicide Squad' film

In what seems like a calculated move after being fired by Marvel Studios, James Gunn might be moving directly to its rival. Warner Bros. just confirmed that they are in talks with the director to write the next Suicide Squad film. It won't exactly be a sequel supposedly with Gunn said to be taking a different approach. What that means we don't know just yet. The film doesn't have a director yet but if he does end up in that position, we're sure it's going to drum up a lot of buzz. The new Suicide Squad will be produced by Peter Safran. There is no target release date just yet.

What makes for successful superheroes? We can’t exactly tell you when it comes to the new Suicide Squad movie. A new international trailer for the film about the ‘worst superheroes ever’ just popped up online and is pumping us up for the release next month on August 5^th. What do we see in this trailer? We get to see more of Jared Leto’s Joker just being all crazy and seeing our “heroes” do what they do best… wreak a lot of havoc.

Video: Suicide Squad trailer shows why it might be one of the best films of 2016

With a great ensemble cast, a fresh story and characters that few people know about, and what appears to be non-stop action and stunt sequences (most of them shot in downtown, Toronto), Suicide Squad is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2016 and possibly one that could put DC back on the map before Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. 

The two minute trailer gives the first glimpse of our antiheroes backed by Queen's immortal Bohemian Rhapsody, while most squad members show what they can do, others are shrouded in mystery. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Will Smith's Deadshot are obviously the leads in this story but Jared Leto's divisive take on The Joker looks like something to look forward to as well.  Suicide Squad comes to theatres August 2016.

Suicide Squad, partly filmed in downtown Toronto, is one of the more anticipated movies coming from a resurgent DC which also has Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice slated for a 2016 release.

Suicide Squad revolves around a secret goverment initiative called Task Force X, which assembles some of the most dangerous and insane criminals and uses them for suicide missions in order for them to work off their sentences. While the cast of character revolves, some of the mainstays include Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and many others.
