In addition to familiar Twitter features, the recently launched official Twitter app introduces new functionality that takes advantage of unique Windows 8 features. Philippines tops list of countries following the NBA on Social Networks

The National Basketball Association (NBA), which has a record 278 million fans following the NBA, teams and players globally on social media, today announced that the Philippines tops the list of countries following the league on Facebook and Twitter outside the United States and China.  

During The Finals, the NBA will use social media to provide coverage and interact with fans around the world in real time.

SourceCode: Netflix shuns BlackBerry, no playback on PlayBook

This is unfortunate news. Netflix made it known today via Twitter that they have no plans of supporting BlackBerry and will not even develop a Netflix client for the PlayBook tablet.

“We don’t have any current plans to support Blackberry devices, including Playbook,” said a tweet from Netflix's service account, shooting down the hopes of PlayBook owners everywhere who already subscribe to Netflix or may be toying with the idea.

Twitter gets a redesign

The video above shows what Twitter's new redesign and features are going to look like.

Twitter will debu three new buttons at the top of the page — these are  Home, @Connect and #Discover. @Connect shows who has mentioned you and suggests some accounts you might want to follow. #Discover shows what’s trending.

The big difference on the homepage with the new design is that tweets appear on the right side. The design is more balanced and easier on the eyes.
