HTC throws up a teaser countdown for Feb 19th smartphone launch

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

HTC just sent out a link to their coundown page for the February 19th smartphone launch. An animated teaser shows extreme close-ups of what is supposedly detail of the new device or devices that will be unveiled. From what I can make out, I see a lens, some rounded corners or chamfers, the gleaming HTC logo and enough lens flare effects to make JJ Abrams smile. Now, we'll just need to check this page every few hours to see if more details are revealed. I'll be covering the HTC event live on the 19th so stay tuned for my reports right here.

Video: North American BlackBerry launch with Rogers

Here's video from today's BlackBerry 10 North American launch event in downtown Toronto with Thorsten Heins of BlackBerry and Nadir Mohamed from Rogers Communications. The launch took place early morning in downtown Toronto with Heins and Nadir reminiscing about the long and history shared by BlackBerry and Rogers. Heins was asked why the BlackBerry Z10 wasn't rolling out to US carriers simultaneously and he stated that the delay is on the carrier side and that BlackBerry wanted a more comprehensive North American launch.
