OS Shootout: Windows 7 Vs. Apple Snow Leopard

2009 was a landmark year for desktop operating system upgrades. Apple got the excitement going by introducing Snow Leopard or OS X 10.6 that enhances performance and functionality while actually saving space by trimming off a lot of archaic code. The result is faster startup, shutdown, wake-from-sleep and Time Machine backups.

Gone Digital for Good

We recently moved both residence and office and were floored to realize how many CDs, DVDs, video games and books we had amassed in a span of five years. As I desperately heaved and hurdled box upon box of media I came to the realization that I was, finally, good and ready to go digital.

Apple melds trackpad and mouse with Magic Mouse

Apple’s history of mouse making comes with a few hits and many misses. The company’s penchant for sleek and intelligent industrial design seems to fall short when developing such oddities as the hockey-puck mouse and the recently discarded Mighty Mouse, whose tiny scroll ball easily gooped up with dust and dirt. That, plus Apple’s stubborn refusal to add a right-click button, hasn’t made their mice very popular but this may likely change.
