Pinterest to host a three-day, in-app live-stream test starting May 24

Pinterest

It might be a case of better late than never. Pinterest will host a three-day live-stream event on its app to showcase some of its most popular content creators. There will be 21 workshops covering topics like how to repurpose leggings and making the perfect guacamole. You can only watch the workshops on the Pinterest app. But you can preview each session on Pinterest's site.

Pinterest will allow comments while watching and a chance to chat with the host of the session. There will be moderators to keep things civil. The shopping component of the site won't be available here. The company hasn't mentioned how live-streaming will factor into its plans.

Pinterest rumoured to acquire VSCO

Are we about to get a Pinterest x VSCO mashup? A new report by the New York Times claims that Pinterest might be thinking of acquiring the photo and video editing and sharing app. Neither side has confirmed the negotiations.

But it might definitely work in Pinterest's favour to purchase the "once-buzzy start-up" that became known for "VSCO girls" by Generation Z users back in 2019. On top of that, it will bring its expertise in photo- and video-editing to Pinterest's platform, which can only improve its core offering. We're going to keep our eye out for any updates.
